It's been 45 years since Earth Day was established, and, amazingly, we're still having conversations about the need to protect our planet.
Those conversations need to start early. I love that Scholastic has resources and activities for kids that can help explain Earth Day and get them involved in hands-on ways. Here are some great ones:
- Earth Day classroom & community projects
- Earth Day & the environment: everything you need
- A family guide to going green
- Communicate with your kids about climate change
- Hands-on gardening and nature projects
- 6 ways to celebrate Earth Day
And of course, books are a great way to get kids involved -- because by reading and immersing ourselves into stories, both fiction and nonfiction, we can better understand our planet. Here are some great books about Earth Day from Scholastic Parents, and check out our Earth Day Top Picks here!
To that end...we're hosting an Earth Day giveaway!
THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RANDOMLY SELECTED WINNERS: MEGAN M, EMILIA E, AND KEISHAUNA B!
