This January, we are shining a light on the Scholastic inaugural Teacher Fellow Cohort. In this three-part series, you will learn more about these incredible educators who demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, classroom practices, and what it means to be a teacher!
Comprised of 12 high-performing K-8 teachers from across the U.S., this team of teachers will collaborate with Scholastic Education Solutions’ product development, research and publishing teams across the school year, offering a direct pathway to their diverse expertise and the real-time experiences of their classrooms while providing the teachers with unique professional development opportunities. We are pleased to introduce four of our East Coast fellows. Read below to learn more about them and their passions:
Anna Hart, Greenville, SC
- Grade 5 teacher, Anna Hart joins our Teacher Fellow Cohort from Monaview Elementary, a Title I school in Greenville, SC. Anna has served as a school mentor, hosted several practicum students from local universities, planned curriculum for her district and is currently enrolled in LETRS training.
- Her goal as a teacher is for each child to realize their potential, know they will always have someone who loves them, and to make learning as immersive as possible.
Jadah M. Jones, Norfolk, VA
- Jadah is a member of the Instructional Leadership Team for the Norfolk Public School District serving as a leader in educational innovation and technology for elementary education. She is excited to join the world of her educational leadership constituents as a servant leader, educational access advocate, and equity activist.
- Motivated and action-oriented, she understands that every action or inaction can change the trajectory of a child's future.
Anjuli Dyal, Queens, NY
- K-1 teacher, Anjuli Dyal, hails from Queens, NY. As an educator at P.S.121Q in South Ozone Park, Anjuli is excited to learn from other Fellows and bring her expertise to the table. She is a firm believer in receiving feedback and developing her personal growth as an educator, and values being a team player on all fronts.
- Anjuli hopes to grow within the program through reading professional titles, working with new resources, and research, and ultimately looks forward to helping her colleagues flourish in the program.
Andrew Laudel, Greenwich, CT
- National Board Certified educator and grade 7 English teacher, Andrew Laudel is from Greenwich, CT. Andrew supports student academic and personal development through literature and composition. Andrew also assists with athletics coaching for multiple sports, co-advises the drama club, and enforces teaching through an equity-based lens.
- He believes fostering curiosity and helping students to achieve their highest potential can change the future for the better.
