Tomorrow and every day, read aloud

Tomorrow and every day, read aloud

The benefits of reading aloud to children (and in turn, having them read aloud to you), are countless. A recent study out of the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research found that reading aloud to children every day may put them a year ahead of children who are not read aloud to daily, regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances.

Tomorrow we celebrate World Read Aloud Day, a celebration started by LitWorld's Pam Allyn and dedicated to reading aloud and helping every child find his or her voice.

In honor of this special day, we've gathered some of our favorite videos of authors and illustrators reading aloud. You can find more great read aloud resources in our Art of Read Every Day collection.

Enjoy!
