Scholastic to publish activism book by Marley Dias

We are so excited to announce that we will be publishing an activism book written by none other than Marley Dias, the 12-year-old social activist behind #1000BlackGirlBooks — an international movement to collect and donate children's books that feature black girls as the lead character.

The book is scheduled to come out in Spring 2018 and will be a nonfiction, "keep-it-real" guide for readers ages 10 and up. Marley will show kids how to make positive changes in the world with tips like paying it forward; getting support from your family, teachers, and friends; and using social media for good. She'll also share her own story!

We are so inspired by Marley and her passion for effecting change, and we definitely can't wait to pick this book up off the shelves next year!
