Introducing the 2015-2016 Scholastic News Kid Reporters

Today, we're proud to introduce you to the next generation of young journalists! We're welcoming 27 new and eight returning Scholastic News Kid Reporters to our team this year. The 35 Kid Reporters hail from 22 states and the District of Columbia, and they were chosen from more than 200 applicants!

The Scholastic News Kids Press Corps reports on "news for kids, by kids," covering everything from breaking news and current events to entertainment and sports. This year, the Kid Reporters will carry on a long-standing tradition of covering the U.S. presidential election! They have already begun reporting from the campaign trail and the debates and will continue to bring kids in classrooms the scoop through Election Day and the inauguration of the next president.

For more than 15 years, the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps has delivered news stories to classrooms across the country. In the past year, Kid Reporters interviewed Republican presidential candidates Carly Fiorina and Jeb Bush, as well as authors, entertainers, and newsmakers, including Dav Pilkey, creator of Captain Underpants; Jack Black, actor and star of Goosebumps; and Buzz Aldrin, a former Apollo astronaut.

Meet all of our new Kid Reporters here, and keep an eye out for their stories in the coming year on Classroom Newsbreak, the Kid Reporters' Notebook blog, and in print editions of Scholastic Classroom Magazines!
