Get in the Book Fair groove with a "Fantastic Scholastic Book Parade" and a contest!

Are you looking for a groovy, fun, and interactive way to celebrate reading with your children or students? Bestselling author Eric Litwin is turning up excitement for books and reading with his fun new song “The Fantastic Scholastic Book Parade.”

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3! Students, teachers, administrators and parents can all enjoy the book parade together. Here’s how you do it:

1. Marchers line up with their favorite books, dressed as their favorite characters, or holding their groovy handmade signs and banners.

2. Play “The Fantastic Scholastic Book Parade” song over the intercom.

3. Parade through the halls to the groovy music.

You can have the parade to kick-off your school year, book fair week or anytime during the year!

Now through December 17, 2017 Scholastic Book Fairs is asking schools who are hosting a fall book fair to get in the book fair groove and invite students, teachers, faculty, and parents to dress up as their favorite book character and have a book parade at their school for a chance to win an in-school visit from Eric Litwin, the original author of the Pete the Cat series and Groovy Joe books, and a classroom set of Groovy Joe: Ice Cream & Dinosaurs and Groovy Joe: Dance Party Countdown. We’ll also have ten (10) winners who will each receive a signed hardcover copy of Groovy Joe: Ice Cream & Dinosaurs and a signed hardcover copy of Groovy Joe: Dance Party Countdown.

To enter the contest, eligible schools (all preschool, elementary, and K-8 schools in the United States and D.C. that conduct a Scholastic Book Fair between Monday, August 14, 2017 and Friday, December 15, 2017) will share their book fair parade video with us on Twitter (@Scholastic) or Facebook (@ScholasticBookFairs) using hashtags #bookparade and #groovyjoe, and of course tag us in their post.
