The final countdown: the Summer Reading Challenge ends Friday!

The 2015 Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge ends at 3pm ET this Friday! For the past 18 weeks, kids have discovered new books, logged their reading minutes online, played games, and fell in love with new, original stories by acclaimed authors. 

See below for program highlights from the last week, and get ready to celebrate on Friday once we say "that's a wrap!" on summer 2015! 

  • As of this morning, kids have logged an impressive 232 million minutes!
  • All 12 summer stories have been unlocked on the website. Don’t miss the latest story, The Holder, by Lauren Tarshis of the I Survived series, which you can read here. 
  • The top states with the most minutes read collectively by schools in that state are: TX, FL, NY, NJ, NC, GA, CA, PA, LA, and IL.
  • The top states with the most schools participating in the program are: FL, TX, CA, NY, GA, PA, OH, IL, MI, and NC.
