17 weeks, 11 stories & 211 million minutes

We're entering the home stretch of the 2015 Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge! With less than two weeks to go, kids around the world have logged a total of 211,000,000 summer reading minutes. That's 146,537 days worth of reading!

Here's a look at the some of the highlights from the past week:

  • Kids hit a major milestone last week: surpassing the 200 million minute mark!
  • 11 summer stories have been unlocked on the website. The latest is Role Reversal by Michael Northrop (TombQuest series, Plunked, Trapped). Check it out if you haven't already!
  • The Innovation Machine Game has nearly 17,000 plays. Get addicted here (and don't forget to enter the writing contest!)
  • Michael Northrop recorded a special message for summer readers—see below! Did you know he wasn't much of a reader as a kid? That changed when he discovered fantasy books.
