Well, it's here, technically. And it came with a wollop overnight -- here in SoHo, Broadway is practically empty (!) and states of emergency have been called for much of the northeast.
It's the kind of day that calls for curling up with a hot beverage of your choice (mine: decaf coffee, black!) and a perfect book. For me, that book would be something immersive and cozy, like My Antonia by Willa Cather. (Bonus: the cold Nebraska winters depicted in that classic would make me seem like a wimp for complaining about the eight inches of snow here!)
Here are our favorite snowy day reads:
Alex: I SPY books by Walter Wick and Jean Marzollo. It's a fun way to get the whole family engaged!
Anne: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis! Nothing like walking through a wardrobe of fur coats to find a magical land trapped in winter!
Brittany: A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. Winter is coming!
Jessica: A classic snowy day read: The Snow Day by Komako Sakai.
Kristen: I like to read a book that transports me to a (preferably warmer) new place! I love The Geography of Bliss because in a few short hours you can read about a handful of new places and what makes the people there happy! Hint: it’s never snow.
Lia: The entire Harry Potter series. Who knows how long the storm will last? You'll need lots of reading material!
Megan: Brave Irene by William Steig. Such a fun famiy read!
If you're stuck at home with a snow day today, what are you reading? We'd love to know!
