As August rolls forward, our summer interns begin leaving us to head back to their respective college campuses. Isis Washington, one of our Corporate Communications interns, shares her reflections on her internship below. Thanks for a great summer, Isis!
What's the most surprising thing you learned/uncovered during your summer internship?
Isis: The most surprising thing I learned and enjoyed was how closely the Corporate Communications department works with one another. I have not had experience in every department here at Scholastic but Corporate Communications has to be one of the best! [aw, thanks, Isis!]
Is there a book you began reading as a result of hearing about it at Scholastic?
I didn’t read a particular book as a result of Scholastic, I have just become really sensitive to the names and programs associated with Scholastic, including movies, books, employees, charities...in sum, all Scholastic-related things.
What's next for you?
If everything goes according to plan next will be graduation, more fencing, maybe a U.S National and/or Olympic Team at some point, and law school.
