During the summer months there any many ways parents and community organizations can support and encourage learning for children. As research has shown, children who have access to books at home do better in school than their peers who don’t. In addition, children are more likely to aspire to success and to become lifelong readers and learners if they have role models at home and in the community.
We caught up with Dawn Durundo, Community Impact Manager, Valley of the Sun United Way to hear how parents, schools and community organizations can support learning at home.
