Video spotlight: MC Lars is "Never Afraid" when books are around!

Books. Kids. Moms who are librarians.

This video is everything.

Presenting MC Lars featuring Watsky in "Never Afraid:"

Who is MC Lars?

Andrew Nielsen has been rapping and releasing albums under the moniker MC Lars since 2004. In the past decade, MC Lars has released several albums and music videos, played the Vans Warped Tour three times, performed at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall, taught new media literacies at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and presented talks on hip-hop's connection with education at various TEDx conferences across the world.

One of Lars's favorite song topics is literature. He loves to rap about great literature because it is timeless. There is an infinite amount of inspiration in the books of the world and Lars always works to find ways to make authors like Poe and Shakespeare come alive for young people.  Great books inspire great songs. "Never Afraid" is a collaboration with his friend Watsky, paying tribute to their librarian mothers, thanking them for passing on a love of reading.

We're thrilled to share this video with you. Thanks, MC Lars!
