On Wednesday, February 5th, we celebrated the 11th annual World Read Aloud Day! The event from Scholastic and the global literacy nonprofit LitWorld calls attention to the importance of sharing stories and the joy of reading aloud. Check out how we observed the big day below!
On the Road
Across the country in Las Vegas, Nevada, Pam Allyn, creator of World Read Aloud Day and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development, Scholastic Education, attended events at various schools and hosted read aloud sessions both in-person and virtually.

Schools Celebrating World Read Aloud Day
Schools across the U.S. and around the world marked the day with special guests, story hours, and more. Cary Woods Elementary School in Auburn, Alabama even began their celebrations early with visits from the city’s mayor Ron Anders, Auburn University basketball players and cheerleaders, local firefighters, and others!
