In collaboration with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Scholastic has created an educational SEL and ELA program for grades 3–5 and 6–8 that teaches students the importance of getting involved in their community, taking action, and building empathy and compassion for hospitalized children.
As part of this program, students are encouraged to create their very own unique design for a hospital gown for the My Starlight Gown Contest. Between now and April 18, students in grades 3–8 can enter either a hand drawing or a design made by using our online design tool for the chance to have their creation made into a real hospital gown!
Five winning designs will be chosen, but whether yours is made into a real hospital gown or not, each student’s contribution is important! For every student entry, Scholastic will donate one book to a hospitalized child, helping to spread the joy of reading to all children.
The deadline to enter the My Starlight Gown Contest is April 18, 2019. Learn more by visiting http://www.scholastic.com/mystarlightgown/contest/.
