Scholastic offers a story for every reader, with books that make us laugh, dream, and open our eyes to different people and cultures. And we're committed to inspiring a lifelong love of reading, starting on day one.
Introducing The Story Starts Here.
It's more than a tagline; it was born out of a belief that offering diverse, imaginative, and fun board books and picture books for every child, creating inspirational materials for classrooms, and making engaging and educational book-based activities for children makes us true literacy partners.
Over at scholastic.com/storystartshere, we're extending the reading experience with news and events, activities, downloadable assets, and more. (You can find all the assets on our new Pinterest board, too!) And because getting new and favorite books into the hands of young children really starts with YOU, each season will bring to your doorstep a curated collection of books we are excited to share.
So what can you expect with The Story Starts Here?
First, a carefully curated selection of picture and board books, such as:
- Peek-a-Boo Farm by Joyce Wan: A sweet animal board book filled with large lift-the-flaps for the youngest readers.
- If You're a Robot and You Know It by David A. Carter and Musical Robot: A futuristic pop-up book that invites readers to interact and sing their way through the story.
- Where's Walrus? And Penguin? by Stephen Savage: A fun animals-in-the-run sequel to Where's Walrus? This wordless picture book encourages readers to make up their own story again and again!
- Zen Socks by Jon J Muth: Woven together with stunning artwork, these stories deliver simple messages with big heart.
- Friendshape by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld: This picture book features four seemingly simple shapes that remind us that friends help us in the most extraordinary ways.
...And lots of amazing downloadables and activities for young readers.
