As the world's largest publisher of children’s books, we have a responsibility to protect our environment to help ensure that the children of today and tomorrow can enjoy and benefit from our forests. With that in mind, we incorporated the Forest Stewardship Council standards into our paper procurement guidelines in 2008. Since then, we have exceeded our original goal for FSC-certified paper, along with drastically increasing the amount of recycled paper we use to print our books, magazines, and other materials.
We are proud to announce that today, Scholastic was honored as one of eleven winners of the FSC Leadership Award, presented to "organizations and people who have long championed forest conservation and leveraging markets to promote stewardship."
