Yesterday Scholastic’s trade division celebrated their seventh annual Halloween costume party! This year the party was held in what we call the “Greenhouse” which is our rooftop cafeteria. This was the biggest party we have had to date with more than 150 attendees. Members of the trade division were decked out in children’s book-themed costumes and enjoyed lots of sweet treats. We also had a spooky background where everyone was able to show off their costumes to an esteemed judging panel that included author R.L. Stine.
This party is one of my favorite Halloween traditions as it brings the entire division together to come and celebrate children’s books while also celebrating everyone’s creativity and passion. Costume highlights include our marketing team’s take on Giraffe’s Can’t Dance and identical twin brothers Jeremy (publicity department) and Jeffrey West (editorial department) dressed as the Weasley twins from Harry Potter. (Though they almost didn’t need costumes to look the part!)
