Today our thoughts are with Bob Minzesheimer's family and loved ones. Bob was a known presence here at Scholastic, thanks to his decades of work writing about books and authors for USA Today. (For more, see his USA Today obituary.)
We wanted to share some of our favorite reviews and features from Bob over the years. Take a look and reminisce with us:
- Collins leaves young love unresolved in Catching Fire
- The somber realities of war cross generations in Myers' Sunrise
- Picture book Bugs could make kids itchy and giggly
- There's a film behind his Invention
- Suzanne Collins reveals Memories of dad in Vietnam
- The Magic School Bus: Still rolling after 25 years
- Sendack's pop-up is a fright
Several years ago, Scholastic News Kid Reporter Cecilia Gault got to interview Bob:
"I think all books should push kids a little bit and introduce them to a world they don't know anything about," he said. "Sometimes that can be a real world or a fantasy world."
