This week on the podcast, we're talking with Julia Donaldson! Julia was the Children's Laureate in the UK from 2011-2013 and is the author of more than 140 books for children including her most recent picture book, Zog and the Flying Doctors.
Julia and her husband, Malcolm, were in the middle of a US school-visit tour when they stopped by our office for an interview. When they do events and school visits, they sing songs, put on costumes, and stage elaborate performances of Julia’s books and they treated us to one of their original songs in our recording studio!
Julia also talks about her passionate love of libraries and her writing process that she has used to write more than 140 books, which she says, "Isn't much of a process," but involves taking lots of country walks and asking her family endless questions to figure out the plot.
