In Our Feeds: NYC Literary characters, The Great Gatsby and a book lover's dream home

Each Friday, we share a handful of links we found interesting, provocative, funny — or just plain cool. We call it In Our Feeds. Have a good weekend!

New York City is home to some of the most iconic characters in literature. Now, you can follow them in their footsteps. Nadia shared this map showcasing the urban journeys of many characters from novels including: The Goldfinch, The Bell Jar, Eloise, Catcher in the Rye and more; however, I may not be quick to explore the world of American Pyscho.

Did you know it took quite some time for The Great Gatsby to gain the reputation it has today as an American classic? Sure, we all remember having this as "assigned reading" in high school (it was actually my favorite), but it wasn't always "recommended reading." Lia sent me this great article about the ups-and-downs of this now iconic novel.

I need to redecorate my apartment right now - or simply just move into one of these living rooms for book lovers. I am still waiting for that moment to glide down a wall-to-wall bookshelf (via ladder) and sing about books like Belle did in Beauty and the Beast (h/t Gina). One...step..closer.

Other “must read” stories of the week.

Happy Friday, everyone!
