Happy Earth Day! I couldn't think of a better time to share with you a very special video from a NASA Astronaut, Leland Melvin. He has a mission for kids this summer: join the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge and read every single day.
Leland has signed on this summer to help us teach kids all about constellations, space exploration, and why reading every day is so important. He knows a thing or two about the importance of education and making a commitment to learn: Leland is the former NASA Associate Administrator for Education. He also served on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis as a mission specialist on STS-122, and as mission specialist 1 on STS-129.
