Hooray! Summer has officially begun.

Despite the warm weather and vacations, important activites, such as reading, can get a bad rap this time of year.

Kids immediately associate summer with the classic rhyme "no more teachers, no more books..." (GASP!). How can parents, teachers and other role models show kids that summer is the perfect time to read - and be enjoyable as well?

Never fear. We are here to help! In support of the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge (our free, online program where kids can log their reading minutes earn reweards) we are providing some unique tips to show kids that reading is fun and an adventure. This year's theme is "Reading Under the Stars" (powered by EVEREADY).
