Highlights from World Read Aloud Day 2021

On Wednesday, February 3rd, we marked the 12th annual World Read Aloud Day

The initiative from Scholastic and the global literacy nonprofit LitWorld calls attention to the importance of sharing stories and creating meaningful learning experiences for kids and families. This year, we teamed up with football champion and literacy advocate Malcolm Mitchell for a special celebration featuring his latest title, My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World. To help kids create and build their home libraries, Scholastic is also donating 10,000 books to Malcolm Mitchell’s Share the Magic Foundation

Teachers, librarians, authors, and readers across the globe took to social media to share their favorite #WorldReadAloudDay moments. Check them out below:

Thank you for joining us and making this day so special! To ensure that reading aloud remains a priority year-round, check out these tips from Pam Allyn, Senior Literacy Advisor to Scholastic, author, founder of LitWorld, and creator of World Read Aloud Day.
