Clifford is always on our minds at Scholastic. He is our company mascot, and he can be seen everywhere, from a sticker on the front door, to plush on employees’ desks, to attending company parties! So it’s no wonder that one of our favorite holidays is National Dog Day. We just love to celebrate the biggest dog around: Clifford!
We’ve been Clifford’s #1 fans since 1963, when we published Norman Bridwell’s Clifford the Big Red Dog. We love this book so much that we are publishing a special Vintage Hardcover edition in October, featuring the book’s original art.
Since then, Clifford has only gotten bigger and bigger! (Well, except in the TV series ‘Clifford’s Puppy Days…’) With over 75 different books, two TV series, an upcoming movie, plush toys, board games, and more, it’s no wonder Clifford is everywhere – and we love it that way.
