Associate Education Editor, Scholastic News
Scholastic News Editions 3, 4 & 5/6 are current events educational publications for grades 3–6. We are looking to hire an Associate Education Editor to create an essential part of our package—the Teacher’s Guide—and to oversee our other educational assets. This person also needs to create a strategy for communicating to teachers about how our products can be an essential part of their classrooms.
Responsibilities include:
- Write and edit weekly Teacher’s Guides
- Write and edit practice standardized tests, Pacing Guides, and other educational assets
- Develop webinars, ELA convention presentations and marketing materials
- Assist with the development and deployment of a cohesive social media strategy for the magazine

Managing Editor, Scholastic News
The Scholastic News team is looking for a managing editor to lead the digital strategy efforts and to oversee our social media engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the renovation of the Scholastic News 3–6 websites. Work with each magazine editor to develop a blueprint for the new sites, make the sites a reality, and maintain and update their editorial content.
- Create a strategy for adding new digital content, including articles, videos, slideshows, lesson plans and assessments and manage that content creation and execution
- Create a social media strategy, including Facebook and Twitters posts, YouTube videos, Pinterest boards, and webinars. Work with editors to execute the plan.
- Develop new stand-alone digital products and special SN packages as premium upsells
- Find, write, and edit great news stories for grades 3–6

Financial Analyst, Scholastic International
Scholastic is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst for its international division. The Financial Analyst position will report into the Director of Finance - International and will be responsible for the consolidation of all financial information from the subsidiaries including budget, forecast and monthly actual submissions.
Responsibilities include:
- Produce and distribute monthly financial statements including consolidated free cash flow, capital and prepub expenditures, balance sheet, and P&L
- Review subsidiary reporting packages to ensure correctness and completeness
- Prepare required journal entries at month end to ensure proper elimination and consolidation (markup elimination, parent royalty & management fees)
- Review all subsidiary Capital and prepub expenditures on a monthly basis and ensure that they are properly recorded and track to budget/forecast
