Today is Show and Tell Day! Instead of bringing in our pet gerbils, stealing mysterious toiletries from our parents' medicine cabinets, or (I once did this in a last-ditch effort) pulling something from our lunches like we used to do in elementary school, we thought we'd feature some of our most prized literary possesstions. "This is my first library card from my hometown in California. I remember going there all the time when I was a kid, and after college, I interned at a local art gallery where I was able to help install art in the newly renovated public library. I've had this card for a long time!"

"My friend gave me these Harry Potter postcards as a good luck charm when I started working at Scholastic. They are still hanging on my bulletin board 3+ years later! I think they're working!"

"This is my copy of I Wear the Black Hat by Chuck Klosterman. It’s his latest collection of essays about villains – fictional and real. He’s one of my favorite authors, and a reading/signing event was held in my neighborhood so I went and got a copy signed. What made the event extra special was that we chit-chatted for a few seconds (the signing line was long!) about my favorite villain, Ben Linus from LOST – which you can tell by the autograph!"

"My 9th grade copy of Macbeth (can you tell from the marked-up pages?)! It was the first Shakespeare play I read—thanks to my English teacher, Mr. Morris, for getting me hooked!

My parents gave me these beautiful gold duck bookends for Christmas. I think they're one of a kind.
