Happy 2015! What’s your New Year’s resolution? Twitter analyzed tweets from 12/25/14-12/31/14 and found the top 10 based on English language tweets. The most common included: work out, be happy, and unplug. If you’re looking for motivation to get a jumpstart, take a look at this article Brittany found of inspirational quotes to start off 2015.
How often do you find yourself Googling something? Whether you hope to remember the name of that actor in that movie you saw last week, learn how to ask for directions in a different language for your upcoming vacation, figure out how to solve for x in this math problem, or find the best book to read when you’re feeling down, it’s so easy to type your query into a search engine on your smart phone/tablet/computer to find the answer. Ever wonder what people did before the internet? They would ask the librarian at the reference desk, of course! The New York Public Library recently found a box in their archives with questions library patrons asked (and librarians answered) from 1940-1980 and will be sharing them every Monday! How cool is that!? #letmelibrarianthatforyou (This awesome find comes from Deimosa!)
