As the school year winds down, we’re taking a look back at some of the magical Book Fair moments our Book Fair Chairpeople shared this spring. We helped thousands of schools in all 50 states host Book Fairs this past year—and we had so much fun seeing communities spread the joy of books through our #FairShare Fridays.
Although a challenging year to stage a Book Fair, schools found innovative ways to bring normalcy and fun to their students. As one Book Fair Chair in Prince George, Virginia, put it: “The ability to provide a sense of normalcy in a season of uncertainty was priceless.”
Reactions from students, teachers, and parents hit us right in the feels—like this tweet from author and parent Yamile Saied Mendez.

The Book Fair Chair at Lakeview Elementary in Provo, Utah shared the best Book Fair hacks!
And @thenovicelibrarian gave her school a Book Fair preview that had us wanting to join in on the fun.
Book Fairs brought in much-needed funds for schools, too. “We got hundreds of dollars of books into our classrooms and library,” a Book Fair Chair in Illinois shared. And an All For Books challenge at an elementary school in Fort Thomas, Kentucky raised over $100 in classroom books for each teacher and a total of $3,600 for the school! The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) chipped in too to make sure all students could shop the Fair and walk away with a book.
We can’t wait to see what schools have in store for their fall Fairs. Stay tuned after summer break as we share more great ideas and all the ways schools are hosting Book Fairs during #FairShare Fridays!
