Last month, we announced the 50 Kid Reporters in Scholastic Kids Press who will cover “new for kids, by kids” throughout the 2019–2020 school year. These 10–14-year-old journalists have already made headlines across the country, speaking with media outlets in their hometowns about what it’s like to join this award-winning team.
From news station visits to conversations with professional journalists, Scholastic Kid Reporters have gotten tips from the pros, behind-the-scenes looks at newsrooms, and even anchored the evening news, all the while preparing for their year of reporting on issues that matter most to kids.
In case you missed it, Scholastic Kids Press Editor Suzanne McCabe shared a letter about the program’s 20th anniversary and its role in training the next generation of talented student journalists.
