WMS Architect 

The WMS Architect is accountable for proactively and holistically leading or supporting EA activities that create deliverables that guide the direction and drive targeted business outcomes. WMS Architect is a hands-on role focused on defining and implementing Oracle Cloud solutions/integrations addressing business requirements and priorities for the WMS process area. The WMS Architect will be primarily focused to architect technology solutions from Oracle Fusion Cloud to/from WMS Applications (preferable Manhattan WMS modules (WMOS & Manhattan TMS)). 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Work with Enterprise Architect peers (e.g., enterprise, business, information and solutions architects) to analyze and derive the technology architecture future state.
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Hands on ability to demonstrate a working POC towards the proposed solutions.

Principal Data Engineer

Scholastic is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead ongoing development of the Scholastic Data Cloud (SDC). The candidate will demonstrate a successful track record of thought leadership and management skills coupled with deep experience engineering and managing cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will be distinguished not only by their experience working in a cloud-based, multi-tenant environment, but also by high levels of creativity, passion and thought leadership. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Scholastic Data Cloud (SDC) development effort focusing on scalability, quality and performance
  • Manage a team of data engineers located both on and off shore
  • Serve as the organization’s expert on SDC platform technologies and architecture
  • Perform employee performance reviews and regular one-on-one sessions
  • Perform code reviews

Assistant Editor – Storyworks

Join our mission to engage and inspire young readers as a member of the team that creates Storyworks, an award-winning magazine and digital resource for children in grades 4-5. 

We are seeking an Assistant Editor, print and digital, for Storyworks magazine, an award-winning magazine and digital resource read by 1 million kids in grades 4-5.  The right candidate is high-energy, creative, detail-oriented and eager to join our close-knit, mission-driven team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Generating story ideas, researching, and possibly writing some short features in the magazine.  Helping to manage key aspects of Storyworks digital, including producing web pages, writing copy, and trafficking assets through the production process.
  • Assisting in the creation of the Ideabook, our blog for teachers; scheduling writing and editing articles and updating the blog.
  • Managing our social media presence and creating posts for various platforms.

Manager, Programs and Communications

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a manager of programs and communications.

The Alliance identifies young artists and writers with exceptional artistic and literary talent and brings their remarkable work to a national audience through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Awards have an impressive legacy dating back to 1923 and a noteworthy roster of past award recipients including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford and Joyce Carol Oates. 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Manage mailing lists and Implement large-scale mailings of posters, letters, catalogs, books, certificates, and medals to students, educators, and program partners.
  • Coordinate large-scale e-blasts with Region-at-Large, New York City, and national programs.
  • Coordinate messaging to students, parents, and educators in advance of annual National Events.
  • Prepare for September program launch by developing outreach strategy, customer service protocols, and program announcements.
  • Work with Programs Assistant to manage customer service throughout the year.
  • Recruit, track, and manage jurors for various programs under direction of program leadership.

Senior Manager Digital Research & Data
