Earlier this summer, we posed an important question: what are your favorite memories from Scholastic Book Fairs? We watched as your favorite childhood memories started pouring in and now that the sweepstakes has closed, we’re recapping some of the great entries we saw on social media.
If you ask me, the Scholastic Book Fair was definitely one of my favorite days of school. Getting the chance to browse the shelves of the Fair, choose my own books, and budget my spending excited me most, and I couldn’t wait to get home and devour my brand new books!
Check out some of our favorite posts below:
The first time I went to the book fair, I picked up my first book in the Baby-Sitter’s Little Sister series by #AnnMMartin called Karen’s Pony. That started a love of the BSLS and eventually the BSC series as I got older. #bookfairmemories #Sweepstakes

Going to the book fair was like going on a shopping spree with your friends. Browsing and comparing purchases was part of the excitement. And unlike at a regular store, no manager would faint at the sight of 30 ten year olds walking in. @Scholastic #bookfairmemories #Sweepstakes

My favorite memory is counting out my chang to buy a new book. I'd save all summer for the book fair. I now have two boys and they have a book fund which they both half the day before the book fair. @Scholastic #bookfairmemories #tradition #scholastic pic.twitter.com/AkRbWxpysk

My @Scholastic #bookfairmemories was the catalog announcing the book fair was coming to town. I would pore over the pages, making my selections. So I would be able to dash in and buy my books then I had more time to read them before returning to class. #sweepstakes

#BookFairMemories❤️ I clearly remember showing my mom a #HarryPotter and the Sorcerer’s Stone paperback for sale in a Book Fair Catalogue in 4th grade - and being so blasé about “I mean I guess we should read this. My friend Lauren won’t stop talking about it.”
