Executive Editor, Early Childhood Language and Literacy
The Executive Editor of Early Childhood Language and Literacy will assist in creating innovative, research-based, developmentally-appropriate learning experiences. He or she will contribute to product planning and will manage a team of content developers to bring product plans to fruition with the highest commitment to quality and efficacy.
Responsibilities include:

Managing Editor, Parents Online
Bring your editorial talent to a website that focuses on helping parents guide their children on their learning journeys. This is the perfect opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented digital editor who’s equally adept at ideating and executing high-level content ideas and managing day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with Senior Editorial Director to define and drive editorial strategy and initiatives.
- Support Senior Editorial Director to plan and meet product and business goals.
- Help execute day-to-day editorial operations.
- Along with Senior Editorial Director, manage Senior and Assistant Editors as well as freelance staff (designer, editors, bloggers).

Principal Engineer
The Principal Engineer in the Product, Content & Applications team will be responsible for making sure that all of the architect decisions from the department are fully integrated with the overall STS architect and standard. The person in this role will also be responsible to keep the team up to date with the software technologies in the business domain.
Responsibilities include:
- Pick up any engineering tasks and become an expert of the area with minimum supervision from the manager.
- Work with business owners to design a global solution for Scholastic Rights and Royalties management, especially the IP level Rights tracking.
- Design the end-to-end authoring/publishing flow for Scholastic content management solution.
- Own and make architecture decisions for platforms, services, and digital products the Product, Content & Applications engineering team will deliver.

Director, eCommerce Engineering
The Director, eCommerce Engineering leads efforts to deliver best-in-class eCommerce experiences for Scholastic’s channels, including Book Clubs, Book Fairs, The Teacher Store and the Scholastic Store. A successful director will have a passion for delivering high-quality solutions that delight our end customers and business stakeholders as well as a knack for identifying and cultivating engineering talent.
Responsibilities include:
- Execute technology initiatives in Scholastic eCommerce and Book Fairs eEngagement domains
- Manage the eCommerce and Book Fairs digital engagement engineering organization
- Become the leading expert on the technologies that drive the business and how they are used (processes, workflows, integrations, etc.)
- Develop a deep understanding of both the current and future state line-of-business needs and how those relate to technology by working closely with our business leaders as well as our technology organization.
