Email Marketing Manager
Scholastic is seeking an Email Marketing Manager who will play a strategic role in developing and managing educator campaigns through a number of digital marketing channels. The person in this position will develop and execute multiple marketing campaigns for key Scholastic business units, as well as advise on cross-channel campaign strategy.
Responsibilities include:

Direct the design, customer segmentation, messaging, analytics and test-and-learn strategies for select educator email marketing communications. Manage campaign assets and work with BUs to meet KPIs. Oversee email marketing coordinator and email coder.

Performance Metrics: Oversee reporting and analytics; provide insights and look for opportunities for growth and efficiencies in email campaigns utilizing internal data and industry best practices.

Annual Email Plan: Creating and maintaining an annual plan that enables our educator channel clients to most effectively and efficiently drive conversion through email.

Understand and anticipate educator customer needs with the ability to develop targeted campaigns.

Manage front-end, creative production and back-end support for email marketing campaigns.
- Keep current with industry innovations, trends, and best practices across functional areas including cloud marketing, CRM/relationship marketing, email marketing, and mobile communications. Provide direction to creative staff and outside designers.

Director of User Experience (Classroom Magazines)
We are looking for a Director who will play a leadership role as the UX/UI expert within the Classroom Magazine division at Scholastic. The leader will be responsible for defining and delivering teacher-facing digital products that reflect the needs and goals of key stakeholders including editorial and marketing. The UX/UI director will provide day-to-day management and mentoring of UX and visual designers, advocate and serve as experience lead for all user research testing efforts and evangelize best UX practices. This position requires extensive information architecture and interaction design experience for large-scale responsive content websites, complex workflows, and framework-level interactions. This is a senior-level role with significant responsibility, requiring leadership skills, creativity, and UX/UI expertise.
Responsibilities include:

Work collaboratively with editors, marketing, research, and technology teams to define requirements that shape product strategies and design decisions.

Create user experience goals and conceptual frameworks; user personas, related key user journeys and relevant flowcharts; information architecture and, as necessary, content strategies.

Lead and facilitate the execution of internal and external user testing efforts, and communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Ability to scope and manage projects through all phases, from kick-off through to delivery in a timely fashion.

Manage and cultivate a high-performing, lean team of user experience and visual designers.

Editor, Scholastic Science Spin magazine
Seeking an Editor with experience writing and creating educational materials for young children. The Editor will split his/her time between creating Science Spin, a classroom magazine, and other projects for the Early Childhood Magazine team.
Responsibilities include:

For Science Spin, The Editor will write and edit articles, Teacher’s Guides, worksheets, and online activities. The Editor will be responsible for working with Editorial Directors and the design team to ensure excellent quality. The Editor will also understand and keep abreast of best practices in early-childhood education as well as educational standards and trends.
- The Editor will be flexible and contribute to new products as needed. Upcoming projects will include print and digital media, such as online videos and book series for toddler through second grade.

Senior Digital Producer, Classroom Magazines
This Senior Producer will act as a product manager for digital development in Scholastic’s Classroom Magazines division. As we migrate and reimagine our content into new systems, we need a strong product manager who understands our business and has an interest in shepherding projects from conception to completion.
Responsibilities include:

Partner with editorial leadership to create and maintain websites and other digital properties for educational magazines.

Manage ongoing production for projects after launch, by supporting production staff and working with stakeholders on enhancements.

Work with editors and designers to conceive new projects, through discovery and design, ensuring that customer and business needs are met.

Represent editorial needs to business analysts and development teams, serving as a key communicator between business and technology groups.

Translate requests into user stories, as needed, and ensure correct prioritization.
