This past weekend was the American Library Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition. This year, publishers, writers, librarians, artists and other professionals made their way down to Orlando, Florida for a weekend filled with educational panels, engaging speeches and of course, booth giveaways and fun!
Scholastic had a large presence at ALA, with a booth in the exhibition hall featuring author signings, giveaways and contests every day of the conference. (Oh, and a very popular cardboard cutout of Mr. Schu!) We're also proud to announce that two Scholastic titles took home Stonewall Book Awards on Sunday (in the Children's and Young Adult categories, respectively): Alex Gino's George, and Bill Konigsberg's The Porcupine of Truth. (The Stonewall Book Awards recognize "works of exceptional merit relating to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience") Congratulations!
You can relive all the fun from last weekend by checking out the hashtag #alaac16, or enjoy the collection of tweets below!

Honored to receive the Stonewall Award alongside the powerfully genuine @billkonigsberg and, I imagine, some fabulous grown up authors.
