Whether we realize it or not, math is all around us and plays an important role in our daily lives—and our jobs! The editors at Scholastic DynaMath magazine recently went on a trip to Universal Studios (the home of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!) in Florida to talk to engineers Anisha Vyas, Mike Kiddoo and Justin Schwartz about all things math.
Justin, an engineer working in the resort’s creative division explains, “I always knew when I was a kid that I wanted to build and design new rides, so I went ahead and took a path of studying math and sciences to become an engineer.” All three engineers share personal stories about how math played a key role in their lives as children, students, and even as professional engineers designing new rides!
