The 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Ceremony took place at the iconic Carnegie Hall last Thursday. The evening was a gorgeous tribute to the program's artists and writers (past and present) who, as Sonia Manzano put it best, make us feel "so hopeful about the future of art in America."
Leading up to the National Ceremony, we sat down with some key players with strong ties to the program to record a podcast episode. We spoke with the Executive Director of the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, Virginia McEnerney, Scholastic CEO Dick Robinson, and two 2016 Gold Medal Portfolio Recipients, Razan Elbaba and Alex Zhang.
