A new year means a new crop of books for us here at Scholastic. We recently sat down with two of our editors, Preeti Chhibber and David Allender, to record a podcast episode about what readers can expect from new publishing in 2016. Preeti and David had a lot to say about what they saw (and they managed to say it all in 19 minutes and 40 seconds!).
So, when it comes to books this year, look out for superheroes, graphic novels and stories that call upon themes from mythology. You can also keep your eyes peeled for books that make kids laugh out loud, the continuation of the Harry Potter obsession, coloring books, and lots of titles that feature diverse characters. According to David, "kids are going to have a lot more fun when they read and when they're read to." Sounds like it's going to be a great year for books.
