In an evening that celebrated the power of books and reading to change the lives of children, Goddard Riverside Community Center honored our Chairman and CEO Dick Robinson, who has devoted his life to making sure all children have access to great books and the opportunity to learn to love to read.
All of us at Scholastic congratulate and thank him for his tireless leadership and committment to helping to "Open a World of Possible" for children everywhere. Author Dav Pilkey, who honored Dick with an outstanding speech last night, said it best when he said, "A lot of people talk about changing the world... Dick Robinson just changes it."
