"There was glitter EVERYWHERE!" (a Klutz party recap)

All summer, the folks over at Klutz have been encouraging us all to try something new! And truly, they have so many good ideas: Nail art, juggling, hair braiding, window art… it’s amazing. Enough to make a less-than-crafty sort feel like the next Martha Stewart.

A few weeks ago, Klutz hosted a crafting party in their offices, which – since we’re talking about it—are probably some of the coolest offices in New York City. Attending the party were some crafty blogger moms and their kids, who tried out some of Klutz’s newest offerings for fall, and made a big, huge, fun, glittery mess.

Party guests included GeekMom, MomTrends, Twiniversity, Inner Child Fun, Media Macaroni, and Klutz’s co-host Amy Mascott of Teach Mama, and – of course – kids!

Klutz shared with us some of the activities that were the biggest hits with the crowd:

  • Mini-Pom Pets: kids got to pick something from Klutz to take home at the end of the party and the kiddos were very keen on the Pets.
  • Design & Dye: HUGE hit—moms and kids loved it, and really had fun being creative with the paint mixing and applying.
  • Face Painting: the face painting station at our party quickly turned into a body art tattoo parlor…the kids could not get enough! Lots wanted to take home the Face Painting afterwards.
  • Pop Collage: this craft was also a featured station and was very popular. It’s an easy craft for people to grasp and has a huge payoff. Glitter and glue were everywhere and it was a true sign of the fun that was had.

Because honestly, when is “glitter everywhere” a sign of anything but lots and lots of fun?

Check out the party pic slideshow below. And remember: it’s August, the days are still long, there is always time to #TrySomethingNew!
