Summer Reading Challenge update: 150 million minutes

We're 11 weeks into the 2015 Summer Reading Challenge and kids are so close to crossing a major milestone: logging 150 million minutes! From New York City to Memphis to sunny San Diego, kids are devouring books and logging their time spent reading online. Now that we're more than halfway through the program, it's the perfect time to check in and share some program highlights. See below! 

  • A new original short story Blue Balliett, What If…, was unlocked last week— check it out! We now have 7 stories live on the website by Wendy Wan-Long Shang, Varian Johnson, Jude Watson, R.L. Stine, Patrick Henry Bass, Gordon Korman, and Blue Balliett, so read them all if you haven’t already.
  • To help set a new world record for summer reading, we're setting a new "Monday Minutes Goal" at the beginning of each week. This week, we're challenging kids to log 10 million minutes by Monday, July 20th. Let's get to 159 million minutes! 
  • The states with the most minutes read by participating schools are: TX, FL, NJ, NY, NC, PA, GA, CA, IL, and OH,
  • The states with the most participating schools are: FL, TX, CA, NY, GA, PA, OH, IL, MI, and NC.
