Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge: Minute Mania Month has begun!

We know thanks to research from the Scholastic Kids & Family Reading Report™: 6th Edition, six in 10 children ages 6–17 agree, “I really enjoy reading books over the summer.” As we enter the month of August, there is still time to help all children discover the magic of reading.  Today marks the beginning of Minute Mania Month for the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge™!

What does that mean exactly? Students participating in the Challenge can catch up on logging their reading minutes from the entire summer and help with the final push for their school, library, or community partner organization to earn top honors and the chance to be featured in the 2019 Scholastic Book of World Records this fall.

Minute Mania Month runs from now through the end of the Challenge on September 7 at www.scholastic.com/summer. If kids have been tracking their summer reading minutes on paper or using another tracking system, now is the time they can access all previous weeks of the Challenge to record these minutes and earn digital rewards for their reading efforts!

Attention educators, librarians and community leaders! Don’t forget, this year's Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge website will officially close on October 31. Be sure to download your student reports for your records between September 8 and October 31!
