Raina Telgemeier wins an Eisner Award (and reveals teaser art for her next book!)

Big news out of San Diego! On Friday, Raina Telgemeier – author/artist of four New York Times bestsellers – won the 2015 Eisner Award for Best Writer/Artist for her graphic novel, Sisters!

The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards are considered the Oscars of the comic book industry. Nominees are selected by a blue-ribbon panel of five judges, and winners are chosen by various comic book professionals. This is Raina's third Eisner nomination and second win! Check out some photos from the ceremony below.

And as if that wasn't exciting enough, on Sunday, Raina – in what Publishers' Weekly called "one of the biggest announcements" of the convention – revealed the title and some teaser art for her next book! Ghosts, published by Scholastic/Graphix, comes out Fall 2016!

Here's a short description of the book she shared at Comic Con: Eleven-year-old Catrina and her family are moving to the small coastal town of Bahía de la Luna because her younger sister, Maya, is sick. Cat isn’t happy about leaving her friends, but she tries not to complain because she knows Maya will benefit from the clean, cool air that blows in from the sea. As the girls settle in, they learn there’s something a little spooky about their new town…

Congratulations, Raina!
