On the podcast: A behind-the-scenes look at the new Horizon series

We've just released a new podcast episode! This week, we're joined in the studio by New York Times bestselling author Scott Westerfeld (UgliesLeviathanAfterworlds), editor Nick Eliopulos, and game designer Gavin Brown to talk the makings of Scholastic's brand new multiplatform series Horizon.

If you're familiar with the worlds of The 39 Clues or Spirit Animals, you probably know what we're talking about when we say "multiplatform." These are stories whose worlds are just to big to be contained in a book series alone, so they've expanded! For Horizon, this means there's also a game (you can play on desktop, iOS or Android device) where readers can immerse themselves in the world.

As Nick says on the podcast, "The books that we love become these spaces that we want to play in." With Horizon, the team is hoping they've provided that space for readers everywhere.

Pop in your earbuds and listen to the episode here or by subscribing to Scholastic Reads in iTunes.
