Since its release in 2013, Star Wars® Jedi Academy (the bestselling graphic novel series, which blends a cast of beloved and iconic Star Wars® characters with new kid characters, in a fresh classroom setting) has captivated readers and budding Star Wars fans. No stranger to leading readers on adventures to a galaxy far, far away, Jedi Academy author/illustrator, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, joined Star Wars fans on a different type of epic voyage earlier this year, aboard a ship on Disney Cruise Line’s fleet.
With his family (and sunscreen) in tow, Jarrett participated in the Star Wars Day at Sea, where he was one of the event’s guest speakers, speaking to nearly 200 Star Wars fans aboard the Disney Fantasy. With an audience of both Star Wars fans and readers of the series, Jarrett spoke about his experience in working on the series, and signed special posters that featured brand new character art. It was a great celebration of the two books that Jarrett has authored and illustrated for the series (A New Class and The Force Oversleeps), as well as his third book, The Principal Strikes Back, which will release in summer 2018.
To celebrate this beloved series and Jarrett’s adventurous voyage on the Disney Fantasy, we wanted to share a few of Jarrett’s cruise photos with our friends on OOM. It looks like fun was had by all – from droid to young Padawan reader!
Here’s a great photo of Jedi Academy series author, Jarrett J. Krosoczka with his books. What better place for a fan than at Star Wars Day at Sea, armed with Jedi Academy books!
With Jedi Academy’s dynamic illustrations and a cast of unique kid characters, even droids (and even famous droids) love to read this book aloud!
Jawas are known as traders—I wonder what they traded author Jarrett J. Krosoczka to get a reading of his Jedi Academy books!
