Overheard at the St. Louis Book Fairs Reading Summit

Yesterday marked the first of the 2015 Scholastic Book Fairs Reading Summits! These summits bring educators from across the country together under one roof for a full day of professional learning, led by nationally recognized educators and authors. They leave with learnings from workshops, new connections with others in their field, and shiny new CPE credits to boot.

Yesterday's summit was held in St. Louis and featured blogger and teacher-librarian John Schumacher, author Cynthia Lord, and the awe-inspiring teacher and author extraodinaire, Donalyn Miller. As the keynotes kicked off, we hopped on the #readingsummit hashtag to see what all the fuss was about. We were met with a deluge of tweets about teaching, independent reading, the power of choice, and more, and while we felt major FOMO for not being there in the flesh, the live tweeting was almost just as nice.

See below for some of our favorites from the day! You can find more details on the 2015 Reading Summits here
