Our 14 favorite pictures from 2014

What a year it's been! Between the author readings, visits from global superstars like Taylor Swift and Usher, product and book launches, and literacy event after literacy event, the last 12 months have certainly been a whirlwind. 1. Author R.L. Stine reads a few chapters of Goosebumps Most Wanted #6: Creature Teacher: The Final Exam on World Read Aloud Day.

10. Reading to children from birth helps them develop the pre-literacy skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Sing, talk, and read aloud every day with your child, as often as you can. This summer, we partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Reach Out and Read, and Too Small to Fail to equip parents with tools to promote early literacy and vocabulary development.
