Great reads for long-distance travel

I'm taking off on an exciting trip to Thailand this week. It's a country I've wanted to visit for a really long time, and I'm looking forward to exploring the beautiful beaches, mountains, and cities that are on my itinerary. The one downside? 24 hours of continuous travel in each direction. I'll be sitting through two long-haul flights, one shorter flight, and a boat ride (!) before I reach my final destination. That means I am going to have A LOT of time to read! Here's what's on my reading list:

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt -- I actually started reading this a while ago, but I haven't had the time to finish it. I think this is my chance!

Are You My Mother?: A Comic Drama by Alison Bechdel -- This is a recommendation from a friend that I have been meaning to pick up for a while. I'm hoping it will provide a little comic relief after I finish The Goldfinch!

The Other Language by Francesca Marciano -- This is a collection of short stories, which I really like to read while I travel. Even though I'll be on vacation, I'm sure that my days will be busy with sightseeing and exploring. It's nice to know that I can sneak in a quick read in those few moments of downtime.

A Fork in the Road edited by James Oseland -- It wouldn't be my reading list without a food book! I love reading about food almost as much as I love eating it. I'm sure that this collection of food travel stories will inspire my food choices on this trip and give me some ideas for my next one!

What books would you suggest for long-distance travel? Let me know in the comments!
