Principal CRM Engineer - Salesforce

Scholastic Software and Technology Services (STS) is looking for a Principal Engineer to execute and extend CRM capabilities on the Salesforce.com platform. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is one of strategic transformation programs within Scholastic.

Responsibilities:

  • Partition requirements into actionable, tightly scoped work items that solve for both functional and non-functional aspects
  • Articulate and recommend a range of technical solutions for a given set of requirements that balance tactical and strategic objectives and based on technology tradeoffs
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure technical solutions that align with the technology enterprise vision

Director, Point-of-Sale Engineering

The Director of Point-of-Sale Engineering will play an essential role in the major technology transformation happening at Scholastic. Scholastic Book Fairs are run in schools and communities across the U.S., Canada, and around the world, and are one of the most vital ways we help kids get access to the books they will love. The point-of-sale system is critical to these volunteer-operated events, and can increasingly drive innovative ways for kids and parents to shop and pay for books at these cherished experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the development and delivery of a unified and comprehensive digital point-of-sale and payments ecosystem serving the needs of Scholastic businesses
  • Become the leading expert at Scholastic on the technologies that drive point-of-sale and retail payments in general and provide leadership and innovation that expand business opportunities, improve efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Monitor market/technology trends along with vendor strategies in the payments and point-of-sale space and determine potential impact to our businesses and systems

Senior Editor, Licensing, Media, and Brand - Trade Book Group

Scholastic’s Licensing, Media, and Brands department is seeking an energetic and creative senior editor to develop novels, graphic novels, and guidebooks for our AFK / Away From Keyboard subimprint, among other titles. This position will manage all aspects of the editorial process for a variety of books based on high-profile video games, specifically games geared toward a teen audience (particularly sci-fi/fantasy and horror). The senior editor must have a passion for gaming and wide general knowledge about the latest gaming trends, developers, and personalities. They must also have background in editing middle grade and YA fiction and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Executive Editorial Director.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with game developers to create original middle grade and YA fiction, graphic novels, and guidebooks based on fan favorite videogames
  • Edit manuscripts, review sketches/final art, mechanicals, and proofs
  • Devise creative book formats and concepts for the gaming brands they manage
  • Prepare acquisitions proposals; run P&Ls; and make offers to authors, agents, and packagers

Senior Manager, Digital Marketing 

The Senior Manager of Digital Marketing will lead digital and social strategy across the breadth of the Scholastic trade list. This individual will work in conjunction with the social media manager and act as the team lead for amplifying Scholastic’s social media footprint for its book titles while growing our follower base. Additionnally, they will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of title and brand websites, ensuring that they align with the social strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and optimize digital and social strategies for our teen community, graphic novel community, select brand pages and overarching social initiatives for the Trade group
  • Oversee the Social Media Manager
  • Liaise with Corporate Communications team, specifically the social media managers, to ensure our titles are well-represented on all corporate channels
  • Work with Social Media Manager to strategize a diverse content mix by channel to grow membership and engagement, including a robust influencer strategy

Regional Marketing Manager 

This member of the the Regional Marketing team will be responsible for the strategic marketing of Scholastic Education’s suite of programs and services in key states that are a priority for growth, including state adoptions. They will be in charge of building trusted relationships with sales organizations and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with the sales team in order to support initiatives that directly drive revenue in key states and during state adoptions
  • Provide strategic direction to sales team, in order to suggest best tactics/approaches to achieve the task at hand
  • Conceive and manage the timely execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that are designed to fully capitalize upon available funding, ensure maximum return on marketing investment, and achieve regional revenue goals

Human Resources Generalist 

The HR Generalist will guide and assist their client groups (Finance, Global Communications, Strategic National Partnerships, Legal, Media, Alliance for Young Artists & Writers) in implementing effective human resource strategies to support overall business objectives. In addition to promoting positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs, they maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
