Gene Luen Yang has been named the 2016 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, and he's the first-ever graphic novelist to be so named. Outstanding!
Established in 2008, the ambassador program highlights the importance of young people’s literature in developing a literate, tolerant, informed citizenry. Gene will travel the country to help champion diversity in all forms—and formats—with his platform, “Reading Without Walls.” Read more at the link!
