Celebrate Thanksgiving with these classroom resources

It’s officially the month of Thanksgiving. We’ve compiled some of our favorite (free!) Thanksgiving resources for you to use with your students this holiday season.

One of our most popular resources! Each year millions of classrooms discover the “First Thanksgiving webcast” which allows students (without leaving their seats!) to board the Mayflower, tour a Pilgrim village, and explore a Wampanoag home-site through the Plymouth Plantation virtual field trips.

Learn about the Plimoth Plantation Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe with an interactive compare and contrast activity.

Witness the day-to-day life of the indigenous people who were part of the Wampanoag Nation or get a behind-the-scenes look at the simple but arduous life of the Pilgrims in these videos!

Take your students on a tour of the Mayflower, the ship that brought Pilgrims to America in 1620.

Use this Thanksgiving scavenger hunt to assess your students' information retrieval and reading comprehension with compare and contrast.

Looking for Thanksgiving books, check out these titles.

Through the Thanksgiving feast activity, students view a slideshow, read text, and go on a fact-finding mission to learn details related to the first Thanksgiving celebration.

Take advantage of these ideas for creating a Thanksgiving-themed bulletin board as well as relevant titles for teaching young students about Thanksgiving. Also, don’t miss these free printables, activity pages, games, and clip art!
